CHIBA (TR) – Chiba Prefectural Police launched an investigation after a female employee of a hotel in Ichihara City found collapsed on Friday morning was later confirmed dead, reports NHK (Nov. 1).
At around 7:30 a.m., the female manager of the hotel upon arrival for work found the woman, aged in her 50s, at the front desk.
According to police, the victim’s wrists had been tied and her face beaten. She also had a wound to her neck that appeared to have been made with a knife. Emergency personnel arriving at the scene later confirmed her dead.
Police are treating the case as murder. They are examining security camera footage taken in the area for clues in the case.
The hotel is located near a residential area and farm fields, about 7 kilometers south of Ichihara City Hall.
