TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have arrested a Pakistani national on suspicion of robbing and sexually assaulting a woman at knifepoint inside a hotel in Shinjuku Ward’s Kabukicho entertainment district, report Nippon News Network (Oct. 9).
Between approximately 7:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. on September 2, Danish Muhammad allegedly pointed a blade at the female victim and threatened her, saying “kill you.” He then robbed her of 57,000 yen in cash before subjecting her to a sexual assault, according to police.
Following the attack, Muhammad reportedly used a smartphone translation app to further intimidate the woman, displaying translated messages that read, “I have accomplices,” and “Don’t tell anyone about this.”
Upon his arrest, the suspect denied the allegations, telling investigators, “I did no such thing.”

According to the Shinjuku Police Station, the woman was soliciting customers on the street — a practice known as tachinbo — when the suspect, identified as Muhammad, approached her and took her to the hotel where the incident occurred.
However, police are investigating his potential involvement in a string of other crimes, as authorities have received multiple reports of similar incidents occurring in Shinjuku Ward.
