TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have arrested another suspect for allegedly trespassing at a residence in the western part of the capital with the intent to commit robbery.
Police believe the case is linked to a tokuryu criminal syndicate, whose members communicate anonymously via smartphone apps, reports Nippon News Network (Sep. 15).
Norihiko Yorimoto is accused of conspiring with accomplices to break into the grounds of a home in Koganei City in May of this year to carry out a robbery, according to police.
During questioning, Yorimoto has remained silent.
The targeted residence had been subjected to multiple trespassing incidents prior to this arrest. Police have already apprehended several individuals in connection with the property, including other perpetrators and recruiters believed to be operating within a tokuryu network.
Investigators believe the suspect was recruited to commit the crime after applying for a yami-baito (dark part-time job) solicitation on social media. Police are now attempting to track down the mastermind who issued the directives for the robbery plot.
