TOKYO (TR) – Former SKE48 idol turned stage actress Ayaka Okamoto is set to release her highly anticipated debut photo book this fall, promising fans a revealing and liberated look at her “greatest self,” reports Nikkan Spa! (Aug. 12).
Scheduled to hit shelves on September 28 via publisher Fusosha, the book captures the summer-born beauty during a “secret trip for two” in Okinawa. For her first-ever visit to the tropical prefecture, Okamoto sheds her former idol image, posing in vivid bikinis and mature lingerie against the backdrop of emerald waters.
Advance cuts released to the media show the actress exuding a carefree, uninhibited aura. Among the teaser images are a vibrant poolside bikini shot, a tropical orange dress featuring a banana motif, and a provocative back-shot of Okamoto wearing only a draped shirt that offers a cheeky glimpse of her bottom.
“Dream within a dream”
Okamoto first entered the spotlight as a 9th-generation SKE48 member in December 2018, eventually joining the fan-voted unit Prima Stella. Since graduating from the Nagoya-based pop group, she has pivoted heavily to acting, notably taking on the lead role of a rookie prison guard in the stage play “Border.”
“Releasing a photo book was a dream within a dream, and I am overwhelmed with surprise and joy,” Okamoto said in a statement. “I was in high spirits visiting Okinawa for the first time in my life, and I believe we captured the greatest version of myself in history. I want both my fans from my idol days and new people to get to know me through this book.”
Dedicated fans will also have the opportunity to meet the actress in person, with special commemorative handover events scheduled for September 26 in Nagoya and September 27 in Tokyo.
