Over the years, I’ve watched a lot of sitcoms, and some of them have a very special place in my heart.
For instance, I absolutely love Brooklyn Nine-Nine because it teaches you about the beauty of friendships, even if they’re in the workplace. Just like that, I also love Malcolm in the Middle, and though it’s a relatively old show, it still portrays crazy family dynamics perfectly.
However, there is one sitcom that will always take the cake, and that is Modern Family.
With 11 seasons of absolute bliss, this show has everything that a watcher is looking for, in terms of comedy, emotional moments, and an endless supply of crazy moments.

However, things did get a little emotional towards the last season of the show, but other than that, all 11 seasons had something to offer to the audience.
A great thing about the show is that it never got dull. In many sitcoms, you get bored midway, which is why you consider stopping and moving on to something new, but that isn’t the case with Modern Family.

The Beauty of Phil Dunphy
My favorite character in the entire show was Phil Dunphy, because of how wholesome he was.
He was absolutely amazing as a father, a son-in-law, and a brother-in-law. Not only that, but his chemistry with his wife, Claire, was amazing as well. Both of them felt like they were hopelessly in love and always brought each other up whenever they got the chance.
Plus, I’ll never forget their ‘Clive’ and ‘Juliana’ alter-egos they used every Valentine’s Day so that they could keep things exciting between the pair of them. Keeping a marriage alive isn’t easy, but Phil and Claire made it look like nothing was easier than doing so.
Every Episode Had a Wholesome Real-Life Lesson
Another thing that I love about the show is that every episode has a wholesome lesson to teach you, especially when it comes to family dynamics and how to keep your family close.
The show kept its focus on the bond between siblings, not just with Haley, Alex, and Luke, but with Claire and Mitchell as well. Not only that, but some episodes stress the importance of parents, especially in the episode where Jay (the patriarch of the family) misses his mother very dearly.
Modern Family did not hold back with the emotions, because there are a lot of episodes that are absolute tearjerkers, and then there are some that will have you bawling as you watch the show, so make sure you have a box of tissues with you as you watch.
Mix of Different Types of Humor
There wasn’t just straightforward comedy in Modern Family, but there were different sorts of humor in it.
For instance, it’s a mockumentary like The Office, but this one is centered on relatable family drama that goes on in families around the world. Not only that, but the show also includes a mix of irony, intense sarcasm, ignorant jokes, and even touches of dark humor every now and then.
While some jokes may get them cancelled in today’s world, thanks to ongoing cancel culture, at that time, they were pretty hilarious. Plus, most of the jokes were made by the grandpa, so there’s not much you can say about that.
Characters Have Different Personalities
With so many people in the cast, every character had a unique personality, which made the show very interesting to watch.
For instance, in the Dunphy family, Haley is more of the stereotypical dumb blonde (though she isn’t a blonde), Alex is the smart one, and since Luke is the youngest, he’s often bullied by Alex and is a bit more gullible.
Just like that, Gloria (played by Sophia Vergara) is the stereotypical Latina trophy wife who has a hard time communicating with others; Jay Pritchett (the patriarch) usually suppresses his emotions; their child Manny is the sophisticated one in the family who is also a little socially awkward, and a lot more.
You’ll always have one favorite character in the show who you feel resonates with you the most.
Now that you know why Modern Family is one of the best sitcoms to ever exist, this gives you all the more reason to watch the show yourself. So, make sure you binge the show as soon as you can so that you don’t miss out.
