FUKUOKA (TR) – Police here have arrested a 22-year-old member of the Kudo-kai crime syndicate and two others for allegedly running a prostitution ring involving a middle school girl, reports Kyodo News (May 28).
Jin Terawaki, a resident of Fukuoka City, and his two accomplices were taken into custody on Tuesday on suspicion of violating the Child Welfare Act, police announced Wednesday.
The trio is accused of sending the third-year middle school student to a hotel in Kitakyushu City in September of last year, where they brokered for her to engage in sexual acts with two men.
Police did not reveal whether the suspects admit to the allegations.

The arrests follow a related police crackdown in January, during which six 19-year-old youths were apprehended for using social media to recruit the same schoolgirl into prostitution.
Investigators believe Terawaki and his two associates acted as the ringleaders of the operation, issuing directives to the six teenagers previously arrested.
