3 youths arrested for break-in, robbery in Shizuoka

SHIZUOKA (TR) – Kanagawa Prefectural Police have arrested three male youths over the robbery of approximately 10 million yen in cash from the home of an elderly couple in December, reports Daiichi TV (Jan. 4).

At around 1:00 a.m. on December 22, the three youths allegedly broke into the home in the town of Nagaizumi, bound the mouths and hands of a couple in their 80s with tape and stole approximately 10 million yen in cash.

After the incident the trio fled the scene. On Sunday, police announced the arrest of three 17-year-old boys living in Kanagawa Prefecture on suspicion of robbery and assault.

The three youths are a high school student of Filipino nationality, an office worker and a 17-year-old plasterer.

Security camera footage from the area showed three suspicious people getting out of a car and then driving away from the scene, police said.
