Saitama man intrudes in Tokyo home, dies in bathtub

TOKYO (TR) – On Tuesday evening, a male intruder was found naked in the bathroom in a residence in the Futabacho area of Itabashi Ward. He was later confirmed dead at the scene, reports Nippon News Network (Aug. 19).

At approximately 9:30 p.m., a male resident of the home discovered the man in the bathtub with the shower running. Upon entry to the home, the man had removed his shoes. He then took off his clothes and folded them outside the shower area.

According to Tokyo Metropolitan Police, the body has been identified as that of a 36-year-old man from Shiki City, Saitama Prefecture. The man had been receiving treatment for schizophrenia.

His parents told police that the man had gone shopping the day before and his whereabouts had remained unknown since then.

Police are now attempting to understand why the man entered the home and the cause of death.
