TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police on Sunday arrested an organized crime member for scalping wrestling tickets in front of the Ryogoku Sumo Hall in Sumida Ward, reports TBS News (Apr. 8).

Officers took Shinji Morita, 53, a member of the Anegasaki-kai, into custody for allegedly buying four tickets to a Shin Nihon Pro Wrestling match for 1,000 yen each with intent to resell them later. Each ticket carries a face value of 5,000 yen.

Morita has reportedly admitted to the allegations. “I did it to pay expenses,” the suspect is quoted by police.

Morita told police he earns about 200,000 yen per month by selling tickets. He began scalping tickets over 30 years ago.
