Chiba corporate exec accused of illicit acts with school girl at Shinjuku hotel

TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have arrested a corporate executive for allegedly engaging in illicit sexual acts with a middle school girl at a hotel in Shinjuku Ward earlier this year, reports TBS News (Oct. 16).

In February, Yosuke Oyama, 37, a resident of Funabashi City, Chiba Prefecture, is suspected of paying the 14-year-old girl 10,000 yen in cash at a hotel in the Kabukicho district, and subsequently engaging in illicit sexual acts with her.

Under questioning on suspicion of non-consensual sexual intercourse and other related offenses, Oyama has denied the allegations, stating, “I have absolutely no recollection of this; it’s a complete surprise to me.”

According to police, the girl had become deeply involved in oshi-katsu (supporting a favorite idol or performer) — specifically a male employee at a “men’s concept cafe” — and had begun engaging in papakatsu (compensated companionship) to cover the high costs associated with this interest. She reportedly met Oyama through an acquaintance.

It is alleged that Oyama sent messages to the girl via social media, asking questions such as, “Are you in your second or third year of junior high?” and “You’re 14, right?”
