KANAGAWA (TR) – Kanagawa Prefectural Police have arrested a 22-year-old mother on suspicion of assault in connection with the death of her 2-year-old son in Yokohama City, reports Fuji News Network (Sep. 9).
Tomomi Fujii, who was filmed emerging from a police station on Wednesday morning, is accused of kicking her eldest son, Itsuki, in the back on a local street on August 17.
Upon her arrest, Fujii admitted to the allegations. “I lost my temper and kicked him,” she told investigators.

The boy’s death follows the earlier arrest of Fujii’s 36-year-old boyfriend, Isamu Saito. Saito was taken into custody on suspicion of punching the toddler in the face and violently shaking him inside their home.
Itsuki tragically died the day after the couple allegedly carried out the assaults.
Police are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the boy’s death, suspecting he may have been the victim of routine, daily abuse at the hands of the couple.
