KANAGAWA (TR) – Kanagawa Prefectural Police on Tuesday busted a poker parlor operating illegally in Yokohama, reports TV Asahi (June 7).
At 4:30 a.m., officers entered the parlor, located in Naka Ward, and arrested Masayoshi Nakatani, the 73-year-old manager, for game machines without approval from the prefectural public safety commission.
Nakatani denied the charges, telling police that the parlor was closed at the time of the raid.
Police also seized eight poker machines, a card table and 2.7 million yen in cash.
The parlor opened late last year. In April, police received an anonymous tip about gambling taking place inside.
