TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan arrested a popular YouTuber known as “Vambi” for allegedly groping a woman inside a nightclub in the Roppongi entertainment district on Thursday, reports TBS News (Oct. 1).
Tatsuki Shirai, 36, was arrested in the act early this morning on suspicion of violating the Tokyo Metropolitan Nuisance Prevention Ordinance.
Just before 4:00 a.m., Shirai allegedly touched the lower body of a woman in her 20s inside the club. Police officers rushed to the scene following an emergency call and immediately took him into custody.
Police did not reveal whether Shirai admits to the allegations.
Investigators believe the suspect was intoxicated at the time of the incident.
According to the website of Ota Production, the agency to which the suspect belongs, Shirai became the fastest Japanese person to reach 10 million subscribers on their channel. “We are confirming the facts,” the agency said in a statement.
