OSAKA (TR) – Osaka Prefectural Police on Thursday announced the bust of shop in the Nipponbashi area for selling uncensored porn DVDs, reports the Sankei Shimbun (April 17).
At approximately 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, officers took manager Kazuyuki Honda, 56, into custody for possessing obscene media with the intent to sell. Officers also seized 129,000 DVDs and dubbing equipment from the store and a warehouse.
By law, films available and made in Japan are required to have genitalia properly censored.
Honda has reportedly admitted to the allegations. “In the past, I ran a similar store, and it was very lucrative,” Honda is quoted by police.
According to police, sales at the shop averaged 1.2 million yen at the shop. Honda opened this shop three and a half years ago, reports Nippon News Network (April 17).
