IBARAKI (TR) – Ibaraki Prefectural Police have arrested a male Vietnamese national who is suspected of growing more than 200 marijuana plants inside a home in Tsukuba City, reports the Ibaraki Shimbun (Feb. 13).
Police allege that the unnamed Vietnamese national, 32, was cultivating 208 marijuana plants for profit inside a two-story wooden home in the city on November 26 last year.
He has been indicted on suspicion of violating the Narcotics and Psychotropics Control Act Immigration Control and Refugee Recognition Act.
Police did not reveal whether the suspect, who lives in Tsukuba, admits to the allegations.
According to prefectural police, police have also arrested other Vietnamese nationals on suspicion of violating the same control act.
