TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have referred a woman and two men to prosecutors for allegedly allowing pedestrians in the capital to grope her breasts hidden inside a cardboard box under the guise of a game, reports Jiji Press (June 22).
Police announced on Monday that the 27-year-old woman, along with two self-employed men aged 37 and 31, are accused of violating the Tokyo Nuisance Prevention Ordinance regarding obscene behavior.
According to investigators, the trio approached passersby on a street in Shibuya Ward with a cardboard box, asking them, “What’s inside the box?” Pedestrians who reached their hands inside were met with the woman’s breasts, while the men filmed their reactions.
During police questioning, all three suspects admitted to the allegations. “We thought it would go viral,” the suspects reportedly told police. “We thought doing something on this level would be fine.”

According to the squad, the group repeated the brazen stunt 14 times in the bustling entertainment districts of Shibuya and Shinjuku from February of last year.
The resulting videos, which were posted to social media, amassed a staggering 800 million total views. The group used the viral clips to lure viewers to a subscription-based website where they sold explicit videos, raking in an estimated 10 million yen in sales.
