TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have arrested a 29-year-old company employee for allegedly having sexual intercourse with a girl under the age of 16 after posing as a teenage college student on social media, reports TBS News (June 24).
Ryusei Horie, a resident of Musashino City, is accused of non-consensual sexual intercourse. Police allege he committed indecent acts with the teenage girl at a hotel in Tachikawa City in March and April of this year, despite knowing she was under the legal age of consent.
During police questioning, Horie admitted to the sexual acts but partially denied the charges. “I thought the girl was 18 years old,” he was quoted as saying.
Regarding his false online persona, the suspect reportedly told investigators, “I always faked my age to hide my personal information.”
According to investigators, Horie approached the victim on a social networking site by falsely claiming, “I am a 19-year-old university student.”

The crimes came to light after the girl became involved in a dispute with Horie and subsequently consulted a relative about the situation.
