SHIZUOKA (TR) – Police in Hamamatsu City are investigating a fatal stabbing and a subsequent train casualty that occurred in close proximity, suspecting a connection between the two incidents, reports TBS News (July 6).
At approximately 11:30 a.m. today, a 20-year-old Indonesian woman was discovered inside an apartment suffering from severe stab wounds. She was rushed to a local hospital but was subsequently pronounced dead.
Shortly after the discovery, a man was struck and killed by a train on a nearby railway line.
According to investigators, the deceased man closely matches the description of an individual witnessed at the scene of the stabbing.
Shizuoka Prefectural Police are now working to formally identify the man and determine the exact sequence of events connecting the murder to the fatal railway collision.
