MIYAGI (TR) — Police in Sendai City have arrested a 36-year-old high school teacher on suspicion of public indecency after he allegedly exposed his lower body inside a shopping arcade, reports TBS News (Apr. 20).
The suspect, who is employed at a high school in Natori City, is accused of committing the indecent act at approximately 3:30 a.m. on April 18 in an arcade located in Aoba Ward.
The incident came to light after a witness reported the suspect’s behavior to authorities. Police were subsequently able to identify the teacher through an analysis of security camera footage and witness testimonies.
According to investigators, witnesses at the scene stated that the suspect “was exposing his lower body every time a woman passed by.”
Upon his arrest on April 20, the suspect denied the allegations. “I was drunk and do not remember,” he told police.
Police are continuing to investigate the detailed circumstances surrounding the incident.
