HYOGO (TR) – Police in Kobe City are investigating a 79-year-old former yakuza member after two men were shot in quick succession last week, leaving one dead and another severely injured, reports Mainichi Broadcasting System (Oct. 5).
Naoto Kameya, a resident of Chuo Ward, is currently facing attempted murder charges. On September 30, Kameya allegedly shot a 54-year-old man in the torso inside a parked car in the Aratacho area of Hyogo Ward. The victim sustained severe injuries.
Just 10 minutes prior to that incident, 58-year-old company manager Masayuki Akata was gunned down in neighboring Chuo Ward.

According to police, a recent autopsy revealed Akata’s cause of death to be hemorrhagic shock. His body bore multiple gunshot wounds, with bullets causing severe damage to his internal organs.
During questioning, Kameya has reportedly hinted at his involvement in Akata’s murder. Police are now conducting a thorough investigation into the sequence of events and the motive behind the bloodshed.
