TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have arrested a self-described psychic over the alleged molestation of a teenage girl under the guise of exorcising spirits last year, reports the Mainichi Shimbun (Jan. 29).
On May 10, Keisuke Yamada, 58, is suspected of committing lewd acts, including groping, on the teenage girl in her apartment in the capital.
When questioned on suspicion of indecent assault without consent, Yamada denied the charges. “It was necessary for an exorcism,” he said. “I only touched her after getting her permission.”
According to Koiwa Police Station, the woman had been suffering from poor health for many years. Her family searched for an exorcist on social media and found Yamada.
After Yamada visited her apartment on May 10. “If you continue like this, you’ll get cancer,” he said. “I’m the type who exorcises spirits by touching you with my hands.” During the visit, he touched her body multiple times.
After the session, she contacted him. “I want to perform another exorcism,” she said. He visited her again two days later.
However, her symptoms did not improve. The woman then became suspicious and consulted her family. They then called police.
