SAITAMA (TR) – Saitama Prefectural Police have arrested a 41-year-old prefectural high school teacher for allegedly sexually assaulting a former female student after forcing his way into her residence, reports Nippon News Network (July 16).
Ryota Motegi is accused of covering the young woman’s mouth with his hand and yelling, “Be quiet!” before raping her in the early hours of April 2022, according to investigative sources.
The assault took place after the victim, whom Motegi had taught before she graduated, visited her former high school. Motegi reportedly approached her during the visit, telling her, “Let’s catch up,” before later turning up at her home uninvited and committing the crime.

Upon his arrest on suspicion of forcible sexual intercourse, Motegi opted to remain silent. “I don’t want to say anything,” he told investigators.
The suspect is already known to police. In May of this year, Motegi was arrested for attempting to sexually assault another female student on multiple occasions in 2023. He was subsequently indicted in June for violating the Child Welfare Act.
Police are now investigating the possibility that Motegi committed similar crimes against other students.
