Niigata man arrested for 3rd time in serial lingerie theft spree

NIIGATA (TR) – Police in Shibata City have arrested a 67-year-old unemployed man on suspicion of trespassing and theft after he allegedly broke into multiple homes to steal women’s underwear, reports BSN TV (Aug. 16).

The suspect, a resident of the city’s Kamitate area, was taken into custody on Sunday. According to police, the man is accused of breaking into two private residences a total of three times, making off with five items of women’s lingerie.

Upon questioning, the man fully admitted to the allegations. “There is no mistake,” he told investigators.

This latest incident marks the suspect’s third arrest in an ongoing crime spree. In July, he was nabbed by police for stealing underwear at a commercial facility. Weeks later, on August 9, he was arrested again on suspicion of trespassing after sneaking into the women’s changing room of a bathhouse at an accommodation facility in Nagaoka City.

Police are currently investigating the suspect’s activities in detail to determine if he is linked to any other similar crimes in the area.
