OKAYAMA (TR) – A man installed a camera disguised as a fire alarm in the women’s bathroom of a cram school he runs to film teenage students, police said on Saturday.

Okayama Prefectural Police charged Takeshi Maruyama, 33, with violating the child prostitution and pornography control laws for installing the camera on the wall of the bathroom in January in Kita Ward, Okayama City, the Sankei Shimbun reports (Dec. 3).

Maruyama was previously arrested on suspicion of trespassing in November for sneaking into a school in Okayama Prefecture twice with the objective of taking tosatsu, or voyeur, footage, and was indicted on Friday.

Maruyama’s computer and disguised ceiling-mounted camera were confiscated as part of the investigation, which led authorities to discover the illicit filming.
