AICHI (TR) – Police are investigating the possibility that a male police officer who died after crashing into a train in Anji City had intended to take his own life, reports Nippon News Network (Mar. 3).
The 43-year-old Aichi Prefectural Police officer died instantly after crashing into the JR Tokaido Line train and causing its front car to derail at a crossing at 7 a.m.
He was maybe troubled after the prefectural police inspector’s office spoke to him over personal issues, police sources said.
Three passengers were left with poor health following the crash, which caused a 13-hour delay affecting some 88,000 travelers.
