KANAGAWA (TR) – Police have arrested a member of the Maritime Self-Defense Force (MSDF) for allegedly attempting to secretly film up a woman’s skirt in Yokohama City using a miniature camera concealed in his shoe, reports Nippon News Network (May 12).
Masato Hatano, a Petty Officer 3rd Class stationed at the MSDF Yokosuka Base, is accused of attempting to capture (tosatsu) illicit footage of a female shopper inside a commercial facility in the Minatomirai district on Sunday.
Upon his arrest, Hatano admitted to the allegations. “I filmed it because I wanted to see the woman’s sexual parts,” he told investigators.
According to police, Hatano utilized a highly calculated setup to carry out the act. The suspect allegedly pierced a small hole in his shoe to house a tiny camera measuring just 1 centimeter. He operated the hidden device using a remote control strapped to his ankle, which he kept concealed beneath his trousers.
