TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have re-arrested a 35-year-old man who is suspected of repeatedly targeting girls for sugar daddy relationships over the alleged sexual assault of a female high school student last year, reports Jiji Press (Sep. 28).
The re-arrest of Yu Toma stems from an incident on July 18 of last year at an apartment in Chiba City where he lived at the time. In the incident, he allegedly sexually assaulted the female — then 17 years old — after telling her he would “teach her how things are done at a hotel.”
Upon his arrest on suspicion of non-consensual sexual intercourse and other offenses, Toma partially denied the allegations. He told police that while he did provide instruction he went on to say that “no sexual intercourse took place.”

Papakatsu
Toma is believed to have coerced multiple female middle and high school students into engaging in papakatsu (compensated dating), meaning they received money or goods in exchange for indecent acts. He also extorted cash from their partners by posing as the girls’ older brother.
Police had first arrested Toma for allegedly introducing a 14-year-old female junior high school student — whom he had recruited via social media — to a man who subsequently took her to a hotel to engage in indecent acts.
During that investigation, a document with guidelines for carrying out papakatsu and images containing specific instructions were reportedly found on his smartphone.
In the latest case, the female in question had been introduced to Toma by a classmate for compensated dating. During a discussion, she was threatened with remarks such as, “You’ll be killed [if you tell anyone]. There’s no backing out now.” She was subsequently victimized after being introduced to Toma.
She reportedly stated, “I was too scared to resist.”
