SAITAMA (TR) – Saitama Prefectural Police have arrested a 32-year-old man on suspicion of threatening a teenage girl and attempting to sexually assault her, reports Nippon News Network (July 29).
Last on July 18, Alexander Kawabata, is accused of strangling the teenage girl in a vacant lot in Kitamoto City. “Do you want to die?” he threatened as he attempted to sexually assault her.
The victim sustained injuries, including a sprained neck, that will take one month to fully heal.
Under questioning, Kawabata has denied the allegations, stating, “I didn’t do it.”

The two were strangers; it is believed that Kawabata spotted the girl while driving home, dragged her into the vacant lot and committed the assault.
The incident came to light after the girl’s mother contacted the police, reporting that her daughter had been strangled and dragged into the bushes.
