KANAGAWA (TR) – Kanagawa Prefectural Police have arrested a 51-year-old man for allegedly abandoning a body likely that of his mother at their home in Isehara City, reports the Sankei Shimbun (July 9).
On Tuesday, police working off a tip entered the residence of Satoshi Inoue, of no known occupation, and found the partially skeletal corpse lying face-down in the living room.
“I saw my mother collapse and stop moving, but I left her there,” Inoue told the Isehara Police Station in admitting to allegations of abandoning a corpse.

According to police, Inoue lives with his mother, aged in her 70s. On Tuesday, a woman living nearby reported that she had not seen the suspect’s mother recently. When police officers checked, they found the body.
It is estimated that the person died around January 16.
Police are now working to confirm the identity of the body and determine whether the suspect’s mother is still being paid her pension.
