TOKYO (TR) – The male manager of a Toshima Ward girl’s bar in custody for repeatedly forcing a female employee into prostitution has been rearrested for sexually assaulting her, reports Nippon News Network (Jan. 8).
Last May, Maoya Suzuki, the 39-year-old manager of the girls’ bar in Ikebukuro, is suspected of taking the female employee, aged in her 20s, to an internet cafe in Toshima and sexually assaulting her.
Regarding the latest charges, Suzuki denies the allegations, police said.
The victim said, “I had been subjected to so much violence in the past, so I had no choice but to comply.”
Last year, police accused Suzuki and female employee Ai Tano, 21, of using a GPS (global positioning system) device to force the woman to engage in prostitution in the Okubo Park area of Kabukicho, Shinjuku Ward.
She is believed to have been prostituted to around 400 men over three months, earning around 6 million yen. She remitted almost all of that amount to Suzuki.
