TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have arrested two men over the alleged rape of a female acquaintance of one of the suspects in Itabashi Ward last month, reports NHK (July 1).
Between 12:30 a.m. and 2:50 a.m. on June 2, Reiya Yamamoto, 25, posed as a plumber in allegedly breaking into the apartment and sexually assaulting the woman, aged in her 20s.
According to police, Retsu Matsuda, 27, is an acquaintance of the victim. Prior to the incident, he posted a job opening on a shady online bulletin board for part-time work. He wrote, “Wanted, committing sexual assault.”
After Yamamoto responded, Matsuda promised to make a payment and gave him the woman’s address.

Upon his arrest on suspicion of non-consensual sexual intercourse and other crimes, Matsuda declined to comment. Meanwhile, Yamamoto admitted to the charges. “I did it with the promise of receiving payment,” he said.
Prior to entering the residence, Yamamoto said that he was a plumber. “I came to inspect the waterworks,” he said. During the alleged crime, he also stole 10,000 yen from the woman’s wallet.
