TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police launched an investigation following the discovery of a headless corpse along a railway in Machida City on Tuesday, reports TV Asahi (Feb. 10).
At just before 10:30 a.m., a witness called police to report a “headless body” near the JR Yokohama Line tracks in the Morino area.
According to investigators, the body was in a state of decomposition. The gender and other details are not yet known.
Tokyo police plan to work to identify the body. The case is being considered as the result of foul play, an accident or suicide.
The location is a residential area between Machida and Kobuchicho stations on the JR Yokohama Line.
