Gunma high school teacher dismissed after spiking student’s water bottle with urine

GUNMA (TR) – The Gunma Prefectural Board of Education has announced the disciplinary dismissal of two male high school teachers over separate misconduct scandals, including one who mixed his own urine into a student’s drink, reports TV Asahi (Aug. 19).

According to the board, a male teacher in his 20s spiked the water bottle of one of his own students with urine on school grounds in May.

The disturbing incident came to light after the student noticed something strange about the drink and informed their parents, who then reported the matter to the school. Approximately a month after the incident, the teacher confessed his actions to a supervisor.

In a separate case, a 25-year-old male teacher formerly employed at prefectural Numata High School was also fired for voyeurism.

In June, the teacher used a smartphone to film up the skirt of a high school girl from behind while on a staircase at Yokohama Station. He was arrested on the spot and was subsequently ordered to pay a fine for the offense.

The Board of Education issued a public apology regarding the back-to-back scandals, stating, “We intend to ensure further thorough guidance and supervision moving forward.”
