TOKYO (TR) – A group of students from the town of Iyuzen discovered a live frog in food served a hotel in Shinagawa Ward during a school trip earlier this year, reports the Yomiuri Shimbun (June 18).
On the morning of May 16, the third-year students found green tree frog — measuring about 2 centimeters in length — in their buffet breakfast salad served at the New Otani Inn.
According to the town, the students stayed at the hotel for three days and two nights beginning on May 14. They then returned to Toyama.
There were no reports of health-related issues due the incident, the town said.
Representatives from the hotel later visited the town and apologized to the students and school officials.
