Female teacher in her 20s fired over indecent acts with minor in Iwate

IWATE (TR) – The Iwate Prefectural Board of Education announced on September 14 the disciplinary dismissal of a female teacher in her 20s for committing indecent acts with a minor, reports Iwate Menkoi TV (Sep. 14).

According to the board, the woman, who was employed at a prefectural school, engaged in physical, indecent acts with a person under the age of 18 on multiple occasions between April and May of 2026.

The illicit behavior came to light in mid-May after an acquaintance of the victim tipped off the board of education.

To protect the victim from being identified, authorities have declined to release further details, including the victim’s gender or their specific relationship to the teacher.

During questioning by the board, the teacher admitted to the allegations. “My judgment as an adult was immature, and I deeply regret my actions,” she was quoted as saying.

The incident is part of a troubling string of scandals involving school personnel in the region. This marks the eleventh disciplinary action taken against educational staff in Iwate Prefecture during the 2026 fiscal year.

In a released statement, the board of education said, “We will ensure thorough compliance among all staff members and work diligently to prevent any recurrence.”
