TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have arrested the former director of an after-school childcare facility in Adachi Ward for allegedly committing indecent acts against a young boy, reports Nippon News Network (Oct. 2).
In August of this year, Hayato Yasuhara is accused of inappropriately touching the body of a boy in the lower grades of elementary school who was enrolled at the facility.
According to police, although multiple other children and staff members were present at the center at the time, Yasuhara targeted the victim by approaching the boy while he was playing by himself to carry out the assault.

The incident came to light after the young boy returned home and told his father what had happened.
During questioning, Yasuhara admitted to the allegations. “I did something that must not be done while looking after children,” the suspect was quoted as telling investigators.
