TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have served a third arrest warrant on a 46-year-old former employee of a facility for children with disabilities, this time for sexually assaulting a 9-year-old girl, reports NHK (June 3).
Takaya Goto is accused of sexually assaulting and committing indecent acts against the 9-year-old facility user on five separate occasions in a multi-purpose toilet at a Chiba supermarket in March 2024. He is also accused of filming the assaults on his smartphone.
During police questioning, Goto opted to exercise his right to remain silent, reportedly telling investigators, “I understand the details of why I was arrested, but I will remain silent.”

Goto has already been arrested and indicted for non-consensual indecency involving two other girls, aged 5 and 6, who also attended the facility.
At the time of the offenses, Goto was employed as a driver for the care center. Police believe he abused his position to detour during pick-up and drop-off routes, funneling his young victims into multi-purpose toilets to commit the assaults.
Investigators confiscated Goto’s smartphone and discovered a staggering cache of over 4,000 illicit images and videos of naked children, including footage he is believed to have shot himself.
Tokyo police currently analyzing the data to uncover the full extent of his crimes.
