EHIME (TR) – Ehime Prefectural Police have confirmed the identity of a corpse found in the mountains of Uwajima City earlier this month as that of a former superintendent of education for Uwajima City, reports TBS News (June 20).
At around 8:00 a.m. on June 18, firefighters conducting a search in the mountains of Kawauchi discovered a man’s body lying on a slope about 5 meters below a road.
The body was partially skeletal.

Two days later, police announced that the body is that of Takahiko Myojin, an 82-year-old resident of the city.
Myojin served as director of Uwajima City Date Museum from 2003. He was superintendent of education for Uwajima City from 2005 to 2015.
Myojin went missing while out for a walk from his home on the afternoon of June 12. According to sources, his belongings were later found.
