CHIBA (TR) – Chiba Prefectural Police have arrested a 27-year-old woman over the alleged fatal stabbing her husband at their residence in Chiba City, reports Fuji News Network (Mar. 30).
According to police, the incident began with an argument over living expenses.
On Sunday night, Mami Kurokawa allegedly used a kitchen knife to her husband, 28-year-old Naoki, in the chest in their apartment inside a three-story building in Chuo Ward.
Naoki was taken to a hospital but was later pronounced dead, police said.
Upon her arrest on suspicion of attempted murder, Kurokawa admitted to the allegations. She said, “We argued about living expenses and I stabbed him.”
“Don’t do things on your own”
The family includes the couple and their two young children. On the day of the incident, Naoki’s sister was visiting.
According to police, Kurokawa had visited Naoki’s parents’ home earlier that day and gave them 20,000 yen.
When she told Naoki about it after returning home, he said things like, “Don’t do things on your own.” This escalated into an argument.
Kurokawa then lost her temper, grabbed the kitchen knife from the apartment and stabbed him in the chest.
After the incident, Kurokawa fled with only their eldest son. The victim’s sister, who witnessed the entire incident, called police.
Kurokawa later said that she went outside to “cool her head.” She added, “My husband doesn’t help with childcare.” Police believe this suggests she had been harboring resentment for some time.
