TOKYO (TR) – A man in his 30s was injured after his car slammed into a traffic light pole and burst into flames in Shinjuku Ward on Sunday, reports Fuji News Network (May 25).
At approximately 1:00 p.m., a light passenger vehicle traveling through the Yotsuya area crashed into the pole, immediately sparking a fire that engulfed the car.
The male driver managed to survive the burning wreckage. He sustained injuries in the crash, but authorities confirmed that his condition is not life-threatening.
The fiery collision caused significant disruptions in the capital, forcing police to shut down the road around the scene for approximately an hour and a half as emergency crews worked to extinguish the blaze and clear the charred vehicle.
