TOKYO (TR) – Law enforcement from Kagoshima, Nagasaki and Shizuoka prefectures and the Tokyo Metropolitan Police announced on Thursday the arrest of six female suspects involved in the uploading of obscene films to an Internet dating site, reports the Sankei Shimbun (Oct. 24).
Officers took Taeko Yoshida, a 53-year-old resident of Tokyo’s Kita Ward, and the other suspects into custody for allegedly uploading films in which they appear fully naked to the deai-kei “encounter” matchmaking site Asobo — a violation of laws regarding the creation of obscene electromagnetic media.
In July, officers raided the Shibuya, Tokyo offices of YourNet, which operates Asobo.
All six suspects have reportedly admitted to the allegations. “It was an enjoyable way to earn income,” Yoshida is quoted.
According to police, the site’s membership system requires male customers to buy points, which can be redeemed for the chance to view various obscene films. Women submit the videos and are paid each time a male requests the material by utilizing a point.
Yoshida reportedly uploaded 100 films and was paid 300,000 yen.
