Tokyo man with ‘leg fetish’ arrested for stalking

TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police on Wednesday announced the arrest of a 48-year-old male for stalking a woman and stealing her shoes, reports TBS News (July 29).

In August of last year, Shoichi Nakagawa, 48, is alleged to have encountered the woman, aged in her 30s, at a convenience store in Taito Ward and followed home her home. After later sneaking into her apartment, he stole a number of pairs of shoes and obtained her email address from a document.

Nakagawa then sent the woman photographs of footwear obtained from her residence and various voyeur images. “I got your treasure,” the suspect wrote to the woman. “This is our secret!”

Nakagawa has reportedly admitted to the allegations. “I have a fetish for for women with slim legs,” the suspect is quoted by police.

During a search of a rental space rented by Nakagawa, police found approximately 60 pairs of high-heeled shoes and women’s underwear, according to Fuji News Network (July 29).

Police are now attempting to determine whether the suspect has been involved in similar crimes in the past.
