On Wednesday and Thursday nights, police raided Benjarong and New Benjarong, both located in the Yushima area of Bunkyo Ward, and arrested two managers, including 46-year-old Pojjani Okuda, for employing Thai hostesses residing in Japan on student visas over an eight-month period beginning in March.
Okuda admits to the allegations.
Both clubs employ approximately 40 hostesses, who are paid 1,800 yen per hour. Over the past nine years, the clubs have collected 1.5 billion yen in revenue.
