TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have arrested a 40-year-old man for molesting a woman on a train in Higashimurayama City, reports TBS News (Nov. 29).
At around 6:00 a.m. on October 23, Atsushi Komuro, a company employee, allegedly held the arm of the woman, aged in her 20s, and pushed her up against a fence as she commuted home on a road near Higashi-Murayama Station. He then reached inside her underwear.
When the woman resisted and said she would call the police, the suspect fled the scene.
Komuro, who has been charged with committing an obscenity, admits to the allegations. “With her being my type, I couldn’t suppress my sexual desire,” the suspect is quoted by police.
Komuro surfaced as a person of interest for the police after an examination of security camera footage taken in the area of the crime.
Police are now investigating whether the incident is connected to a similar crime that took place in Higashi-Murayama City in June.
