TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have arrested a 23-year-old man who made false about his father in swindling a woman he said he wanted as his mistress, reports TBS News (Apr. 28).
In November of last year, Akira Baba told the victim, aged in her 20s, falsely claimed that his father was the president of a large bank and asked that he give “all that she is worth” prior to her becoming his mistress as a means of trust. He is alleged to have deceived the woman out of 2.6 million yen in cash.
Baba admits to the allegations.
In carrying out the ruse, the suspect met the victim at a hotel, where he piled up tens of millions of yen in cash on a table, and indicated that he wished to establish a “mistress contract” with her such that she would be paid three million yen per month. He then made the request for trust.
Police are investigating Baba for participation in other similar crimes.
