TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police on Tuesday announced the bust of a specialty bar in Taito Ward that allows customers to engage in sex, reports Fuji News Network (March 17).
On Sunday at approximately 3:30 a.m., police raided “happening bar” Dark Night, located in the Ueno area, and arrested Daisuke Aoki, the 34-year-old manager, and two other employees on charges of public obscenity.
Aoki has reportedly denied the allegations. “The customers acted on their own,” the suspect is quoted by police, according to TV Asahi (March 17).
Police also arrested seven of the 48 male and female customers (aged between 20 and 66) present at the time of the raid on the same charges.
Officers confiscated a number of items of clothing and props, including chains, belts, masks, handcuffs and ball gags.
According to police, Dark Night has collected 1.4 billion yen in revenue over the past four years.
Entry fees for single men at the club begin at 8,000 yen (women are not charged). According to images on the club’s site, which has been removed, the interior features counter and lounge seating.
Weekly tabloid Friday last year reported that the president of the insurance firm Hoken Minaoshi Honpo entertained a number of his mistresses at Dark Night.
