TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police on Monday announced the bust of a hostess club in Shinjuku Ward for beating and robbing a 40-year-old male customer, reports Nippon News Network (April 20).
On Saturday, officers took Yamato Okata, the 26-year-old manager of club Grandoir, located in the Kabukicho red-light district, and three other employees into custody for beating the customer, a government worker, and stealing 360,000 yen in cash and his bank card after a dispute erupted over payment.
All four suspects have reportedly admitted to the allegations.
The customer had initially been directed to the club by a guide service that said a hostess would be available at a hotel for 50,000 yen, according to the Sankei Shimbun (April 21), After he later refused the offer, the suspects demanded payment of 150,000 yen for a cancellation charge.
According to Fuji News Network (April 20), the victim was then confined on the club’s premises. The crimes were then committed thereafter.
