SHIZUOKA (TR) – Shizuoka Prefectural Police are investigating what is believed to have been a murder-suicide after the discovery of four bodies at a residence in Aoi Ward, reports NHK (Mar. 1).
At around 2:00 a.m. on Wednesday, a woman, aged in her 20s, telephoned emergency services after returning home to report that “the members of my family are dead.”
Police arriving at the first-floor residence, located in the Kawai area, found the bodies of Atsuko Horiike, 57, and her daughter, aged in her 30s, collapsed with stab wounds in a corridor. The bodies of Horiike’s grandchildren, both boys, were found in a room. They had also been stabbed.
All of the persons were confirmed dead at the scene. A blood-stained knife was found in a room.
“My sister probably did it,” the woman in her 20s is quoted by police.
According to police, the door was locked at the time of discovery of the bodies. Police suspect the woman in her 30s stabbed the other members of the family before taking her own life.
