TOKYO (TR) – The Tokyo Regional Taxation Bureau has filed a criminal complaint against the 40-year-old representative director of a management company for self-help seminars over alleged tax evasion, reports TV Asahi (Oct. 20).

The office has accused Manami Suzuki, the head of Chikyu Family, which is located in Sagamihara City, Kanagawa Prefecture, of concealing 140 million yen to avoid paying 30 million yen in taxes.

According to the complaint, Suzuki allegedly deposited payments for seminars into a personal account while under-reporting the actual total amounts received on tax filings.

Suzuki told TV Asahi that the proper documents have since been filed. “Concerning my filing of the incorrect reports, I will deeply reflect on that,” she is quoted.
