TOKYO (TR) – Saitama and Okayama prefectural police on Thursday announced the arrestof four suspects for the sale of DVDs containing child pornography through the Internet, reports the Sankei Shimbun (Jan. 24).
Between August 6 and September 29 of last year, company employees Koji Kawagoe, 37, a resident of Tokyo’s Shinjuku Ward, and Manabu Yabuki, 43, who resides in Saitama, and two others are alleged to have utilized the site Bukuchin to sell 67 pornographic discs featuring minors to a man in Okayama and six others for 31,550 yen. One other male, Kazumasa Shimoyama, 37, is wanted for questioning.
The group is accused of violating the Act on Punishment of Activities Relating to Child Prostitution and Child Pornography.
According to the juvenile division of the Okayama police, Kawagoe has reportedly denied the allegations.
In June of last year, an advertisement for the site promoting the availability of child pornography was discovered by a law enforcement cyber patrol and an investigation was launched.
